Beginning

I have been sitting on my couch for  a time deciding how to begin. Should I begin with the "I'll begin to say..." or "First off..."

I decided to begin with a clever statement on how I'm trying to begin. Actually it isn't very clever at all

But it's something.

Let me say that this blog is not made for a particular reading audience in mind... It isn't made for any audience really. I'm not writing a blog, or "blogging" to barrow the colloquialism, because I feel like internet users want to know what I have to say. I'm not blogging to post my blog website on Facebook in raised hopes people will click on it and be astonished and overwhelmed (because, of course, I think my writing is top-notch) by my eloquent and inspiring words.

No.

I am writing this plainly for myself. It is for me to be be able to express thought thoroughly and effectively and to hopefully help me understand myself and others.

And maybe, just maybe, some person, who is surfing blog after blog to see if anyone has anything interesting to say, will come across mine. They might come across some word or phrase or sentence and be inspired just a little bit. Because really, some word, phrase, or thought is the only seed you need to grow into a colossal tree. (Hah, like my analogy?)

So, I will continue to write to the vast space of internet nothingness and I'll continue to write out my thoughts to no one. Talking to myself has always come naturally anyway.

So, I'll raise my glass by myself... to myself.
